Dat Therapy emerges as a reliable anchor where you can find valuable knowledge and timely support for your mental well-being.
Introduction: Why Choose Dat Therapy?
Life is inherently colourful yet often intricate, presenting us with challenges that are not easily navigated. At times, these difficulties render us helpless, unsettled, and emotionally fragile. This is precisely when counselling and psychotherapy services come to the forefront, recognized for their effectiveness and necessity. Dat is a trustworthy team that can help you discover valuable insights, provide timely support, and endure joy while enhancing your mental well-being and reconnecting with yourself. Let us introduce why Dat Therapy is the perfect choice for you.
1/ Professional Certification from Canadian Counselling and Therapy Associations
Mental health care is highly regarded and emphasized in Canada. To practice as a therapist or clinical counsellor, besides professional expertise, experience, and equivalent qualifications, one must be certified and affiliated with relevant associations in the respective provinces or territories.
All clinical psychotherapists at Dat Therapy hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology. Moreover, to practice psychotherapy in Canada, therapists must be certified by relevant associations such as BCACC (British Columbia Association of Clinical Counselors) and CATA (Canadian Art Therapy Association) and possess related professional certifications based on applicable therapeutic models.
Certain extended healthcare benefit providers in Canada only reimburse services delivered by professionals certified by these associations. Please check with your insurance provider for coverage details and professional certification requirements.
2/ Information Storage System, Video Calls Certified under PIPEDA
In addition to being professionally certified according to the regulations of associations in Canada, the personal information storage system and video calls must meet the PIPEDA standard (The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).
As many know, ensuring information security is always the first and foremost principle in therapy and counselling sessions. What clients and therapists share and work on will not be disclosed to third parties (except in emergency cases). Therefore, Dat Therapy has chosen to utilize the JaneApp system, a platform built according to the PIPEDA standard.
Dat Therapy will have the following responsibilities:
Store and secure relevant personal information and be responsible for therapeutic and psychological counselling work.
Information will only be collected with the consent and permission of the client. Additionally, all clients will be informed about cases where therapists must breach information security rules and report to third parties.
Clients will be responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide to therapists and should update information as soon as possible for their therapist.
Upon the client's request, they must be notified of the existence, use, and disclosure (if any) of their personal information and be granted access.
Anyone facing difficulties providing personal information according to the principles above, please get in touch with Dat Therapy via email: info@dattherapy.com.
3/ Dat Therapy Has Fast and Convenient Online Payment
The JaneApp system accepts payments through most bank cards such as Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, Debit Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
After each session, the therapist will process payment and send an invoice to you via email. If you are reimbursed by a third party (insurance, support programs, company, etc.), you can submit these invoices for reimbursement. Dat Therapy does not directly work with extended healthcare benefit programs except CVAP (Crime Victim Assistance Program in BC), ICBC (Insurance Corporation of BC), and other related programs (WorkBC, WorkSafeBC, if applicable). Please inform Dat Therapy for further assistance.

The system will send you corresponding Intake Forms when scheduling appointments with therapists. Please complete these forms before making a meeting with your therapist/counsellor. This is the fastest and most efficient way to save a significant amount of time for therapists to gain an overview of the reasons, needs, and therapeutic models clients wish to experience.
4/ Dat Therapy Has The First Vietnamese-Speaking Art Therapist in Canada

With years of experience working with clients in Vietnam and Canada, Chris aims to accompany individuals in their therapeutic journey, fostering personal development through painting, colours, and various artistic materials.
